Telegraph staff reports Second-place finishers Luke Howitt of Maxwell and Jeremy Larson of Brady are the top two returning wrestlers for ru- ral Lincoln County schools. Larson fell just one points short of a state title, going 50-2 on the season and losing on a 1-0 decision to Ruger Reimers of Palmer in the final at 132 pounds. Larson has started the season at 138 pounds for the Eagles. Seniors lead area wrestlers vying for state berths

Howitt posted a 35-5 record as a junior, falling to Mullen’s Clayton Hassett in the state fi- nal at 220 pounds. He helped the Wildcats to a 15th place finish as a team and is one of three state qualifiers returning for Maxwell. Howitt will be back at 220 pounds. Junior Kayden Stubbs has moved up to heavyweight af- ter qualifying for the state tournament at 195 pounds as a sophomore, where he finished with a sixth-place medal. Faulkenberry finished 31-1 and won an 8-2 decision over Chris Williams of Valentine in the state final at 126 pounds.
