The Mid-Winter Business Meetings are your opportunity to get directly involved with your state association and make your voice heard about important industry and association issues. With three days of committee meetings, working groups, forums and educational programs, all leading up to the annual Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, countless topics will be discussed that impact your livelihood and membership.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Dawn Carpenter 2017 PRESIDENT

Dear colleague, If you attended NYSAR’s Fall Business Meetings, you know that efforts were made to make the experience better than ever for attendees. We’re making the same efforts at this set of meetings and I think you’ll find the schedule to be better than ever before.

In addition to our committee meetings, working groups and forums – which will provide you with a wealth of information to take back to your business – we’ll be kicking off with the Local Board/Association Leadership Conference. We’ve even condensed the conference to save many of you an extra night in the hotel. We also took your feedback to heart and moved the Legal Update to Monday afternoon so everyone has the opportunity to attend. I’m really looking forward to greeting you at Monday night’s President’s Reception in the Fort Orange Courtyard. I hope you’ll buy a ticket to the 2017 Inaugural Dinner and Installation of Officers - I promise a fun night of dancing, dinner and drinks. The Mardi Gras theme is sure to add to the fun. On Tuesday, you can start your day with breakfast at the RPAC VIP Lounge ($250 RPAC investment required) and come back throughout the day to take advantage of the many amenities. Please plan to attend Tuesday afternoon’s General Session where I’ll share the latest news about the state of the association. The Lawrence B. Caldwell RPAC Award winner will be announced in addition to the 2016 Community Service award winners. The highlight of this session will be our panel discussion about 2017 industry trends. Don’t miss it! I also want to take a moment to remind you about the NYSAR Meeting Planner, where you can build your own schedule, access committee agendas and supporting documents and the attendee list. Once you’ve registered for the meetings, simply login to meetingplanner.nysar.com with your last name and the cell phone number you provided to get started. This tool will be ready by January 1. On behalf of your leadership team of President-Elect CJ DelVecchio, Secretary/Treasurer Moses Seuram and CEO Duncan MacKenzie, thank you for your interest in the upcoming Fall Business Meetings. We hope to see you at The Desmond! Regards,

P.S. - I hope you’re participating in NYSAR’s Step Up, Stand Out challenge and recruiting new faces to attend the Mid- Winter Business Meetings! For every recruit you submit at stepup.nysar.com, you’ll get an entry into a drawing for two free tickets to the 2017 Inaugural Dinner and Installation of Officers! What are you waiting for? Step up today!
