JUNE 2025 EVENTS BOOK LAUNCH Congrats, to the authors and editor of <You Never Know What You’re Going to Get=
Ten stories. All different. All awesome. This book is packed with ten totally different stories from ten awesome authors — and every single one is full of surprises, big feelings, and moments you’ll never forget. No two chapters are alike (just like no two kids are!). One story might make you laugh out loud, another might give you goosebumps, and a few might even make you think, <Whoa… that could totally happen to me.= It’s like a mystery grab-bag of stories — you never know what’s coming next, but trust us: once you start reading, you won’t want to stop.

About
Winner of the 2025 Trillium Book Award for Poetry
DADDY by Jake Byrne
Founded by Stan Dragland and Don McKay in 1975, Brick Books began by publishing chapbooks and now releases about eight new poetry collections and nine reprints annually. Their mandate is to support exceptional work by Canadian poets and translators, both emerging and established, while expanding the range of voices we publish. Much of their work takes place on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, and Mississaugas of the Credit, as well as on the traditional lands of many other Indigenous nations across Turtle Island. They are committed to amplifying the poetry and stories that have long been silenced by colonisation and to deepening their solidarity with Indigenous peoples as they continue this work.
