What’s something unexpected you got involved in at CWU? One thing about me is that I know what I like and what I would be involved in but CWU opened a door for me to volunteer, mostly with SLICE. If I’m not busy with school and bored in my dorm I’ll just volunteer.
What’s your favorite place to hang out on campus? My favorite place to hang out on campus is the Japanese garden next to the SURC as it is very peaceful, a little hidden, and the perfect place to recharge between classes, and take a walk when I need a break from everything.
What’s something unexpected you got involved in at CWU? Joining the Wadaiko (Japanese drumming) club! I was the president of the club at Pierce Community College, and when I transferred to CWU, I wasn’t quite ready to let it go. I didn’t plan on continuing at first, but it all came together so naturally. Now, it’s one of the most fulfilling parts of my time here. I love the rhythm, the community, and getting to share Japanese culture with others. I love how it brings
Where can we usually find you on a sunny day?
What’s your favorite place to hang out on campus? My favorite place to hang out on campus is Lind 112, it’s a special place for film students where people chill, take naps (there is a good comfy couch) and work, duh.
Late night study snack of choice?
Favorite CWU tradition or event? There are many traditions/ events that are in CWU, but by far SWEECY Day is my favorite. It is a student appreciation day celebration, there are many things to do on that day, such as: carnival games, dunk tank, tie dye, karaoke showdown, live music and food festival. All free fun for students. I don’t know how CWU pulls it off but they do.
What club, activity, or event made you feel like you belong? Film club, Hot New Jam, Student Dance Association, and SLICE.
Frozen fruit covered in chocolate because it feels fancy, but it’s still technically fruit and a little bit healthier. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, refreshing, and just enough sugar to keep me going through those late- night study sessions.
On a sunny day, I’m all about being outside, whether that’s hiking nearby trails, walking around campus soaking up the sun, or just hanging out with friends. If the weather’s nice, I’m always ready to make the most of it.
