First-Year Student: Steps to Apply

If you have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher and are on track to complete CADRs by graduation, you’re guaranteed admission to CWU. Every application receives a comprehensive review. If your cumulative GPA is between 2.5—2.99, we may request a personal statement to learn more about your academic journey. If your GPA is below 2.5, a personal statement is required for further consideration.

1. Complete an undergraduate online application at cwu.edu/apply. 2. Pay a $60 nonrefundable application fee or upload a fee waiver. 3. Submit previous college transcripts and, if you have fewer than 40 transferable credits, high school transcripts.

How Transfer Admissions Works

* College Academic Distribution Requirements (CADRs) are core courses set by the Washington State Student Achievement Council (WSAC) that you’re expected to complete in high school for entry into a public university.

If you have at least 40 transferable credits and a 2.5 cumulative GPA, you are guaranteed admission. If your grades are below a 2.5 GPA, a personal statement is required.
