Rosante recommends doing sprint intervals — 30 seconds of sprinting followed by 60 seconds of jogging for 12 minutes. One Part Recovery A good recovery day (or two) is key to getting your body back to optimal performance. When you’ve been working your muscles every day, they need time to heal. Taking a rest day to let your energy stores replenish and tissues repair actually helps you get the most out of your workouts, reports the Michigan State University Extension. Recovery should include plenty of sleep, stretching, and foam rolling. You might also consider incorporating an activity that encourages relaxation, like gentle yoga, an infrared sauna visit, or a massage.
