Bible, Prayer and Church
I have discovered that I need help to keep fighting for the Lord.
Where do I go for help? I go to the Word of God, and I go to prayer. Isaiah 40:31 says, Those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles. I want to pause here for just a moment. Notice that they mount up with wings. An eagle needs two wings in order to fly. For me to keep a balanced life, I need the Word of God and prayer. The Word of God talks to me, and in prayer I talk to God. I’m a complete person. Now I can mount up with wings like an eagle. When I lived in the jungle in Brazil, we kept parrots as pets. Instead of putting them in cages, we clipped one of their wings so they couldn’t fly away. When they got upset, they would squawk and squawk and squawk and go in a circle and stir up dust. That’s like a lot of Christians today who spend their days squawking and stirring up dust. You need to read the Word of God, and you need to pray if you want to live a balanced life. Everything we need to live for the Lord is found in the Word of God.
