Headteachers statement:

Science week

Dear parents and carers,

We have learnt about the flow of water, light and shadows, bubble volcanoes, making a birds nest and had a great time experimenting. Children had lots of fun!

This term, we have been delighted to celebrate the wonderful diversity within our school community and across the city of Derby. Our pupils have embraced opportunities to learn about and appreciate a range of cultures, traditions, and faiths that make our community so vibrant. We enjoyed welcoming the Chinese New Year, exploring its rich customs and symbolism. Our celebration of Eid gave pupils a chance to learn about the importance of gratitude and family. We also deepened our understanding of different faiths through visits to both the local church and the Gurdwara, where children were able to experience first - hand the values of welcome and respect shared across these communities. These experiences help our pupils grow as global citizens—curious, respectful, and proud of the diversity that enriches our school. Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a learning environment where every child feels valued and included. I wish everyone a peaceful easter break. Theresa Mills, Headteacher

Parents were invited to take part in the market experience and purchase a lovely homemade gift!
