Yusen Logistics (UK) Sustainability Report 2023

OUR NEXT STEPS

We are committed to providing our colleagues with a job and working environment that will help to build a better future for our business & society. We will continue to provide a vibrant working environment where people work creatively, with respect, confidence and pride, and where the results of their work are fairly evaluated. Furthermore, we will provide better tools, systems and learning environments with the aim of equipping our whole team with knowledge, skills and the ability to take action. We will build better relationships and a better future with our colleagues and customers under our promise ‘Create Better Connections’ by enabling each and every colleagues to express their individuality and continue to grow. We promote a safe and healthy workplace, both physically and mentally. We also believe that providing a safe and rewarding work environment for our colleagues is key to the success of our organisation. We believe that in order to become a company that is recognised and chosen around the world, it is first and foremost important to be a company that is chosen by each and every one of its colleagues. Yusen Logistics UK participates in a global engagement survey every two years, but we have invested in methods by which we are now able to gain insight into colleague’s engagement levels in a quicker and more detail manner. We will also use the results of the UK Colleague Survey, which is based on engagement levels at earlier cycles, to ensure sound management.

We will also continue to recognise colleagues for their hard work and reward them with the 'Recognise Yu' reward system and annual PDR evaluations. To develop the careers of all colleagues as an organisation, it is necessary to maximise individual potential and provide an environment in which they can continue to take on challenges. To this end, we aim to develop a highly engaged and performing workforce with the knowledge, skills and ability to take action. We have a corporate culture that respects each other, understands differences and embraces and makes the most of diverse values. We respect individuality, make decisions without regard to nationality, gender or age, build a stronger organisational foundation and strive to become 'one team '. To this end, we will continue to provide management and leadership development programmes and DE&I training, as well as Yusen Advance e-learning, a platform that enables colleagues to undertake a variety of self- learning activities at their own leisure. In addition to formal training, our Leadership Team is actively involved in an ongoing discussion about how we continue to develop an organisational culture that underpins all of these objectives and facilitates our collective growth and achievement.
