In terms of operational quality, the company has a quality policy to develop standard quality activities throughout the company and a dedicated and experienced team manages service quality with a focus on continuous kaizen (improvement). The Yusen Excellence System (Y.E.S) system comprises of health and safety, operational standardisation, kaizen activities and management leadership to ensure that services are continuously provided in compliance with the requirements of customers and other stakeholders, as well as legal requirements such as health and safety. We also minimise risk, build a strong foundation and make the status of each site visible through the degree to which quality requirements set within the system are achieved.
Finally, in terms of supplier management, we have established and adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct as an ethical standard to ensure that we fulfil our social responsibility to our stakeholders through our business. With the globalisation of supply chains and the emergence of global social issues such as human rights abuses, bribery and environmental destruction, companies are required to take compliance initiatives throughout their entire supply chains, not just in isolation. We therefore want our suppliers, from whom we procure services, to share a common understanding of ethical and environmental standards with us and to build services that are co-created.
