In order to provide more sustainable services, Yusen Logistics UK has established a collaborative relationship with our Supplier Network, which aims to work hand in hand to provide services with a lower environmental impact and to support both parties in ensuring working conditions and legal compliance. We have developed a Supplier Code of Conduct to encourage awareness. We have also implemented responsible and sustainable procurement activities.

Supplier Code of Conduct Our suppliers are requested to agree to the Yusen Logistics UK Supplier Code of Conduct to ensure compliance with laws and regulations are observed throughout our supplier network, including prevention of non-compliance, protection of all human rights, provision of a safe and fair working environment and provision an environmentally friendly business. Key factors we address in the Yusen Logistics UK Supplier CoC • Dealing honestly with customers, suppliers and competitors • Business courtesies, hospitality and entertainment • Avoiding abuses of trust – conflict of interest • Diversity, human rights and working conditions • Confidentiality • Environmental Impact • Health and Safety • Security • Rejecting transaction with antisocial forces • Legal compliance • Administration, communication, monitoring and enforcement
Working with sustainable suppliers We want to work with suppliers who provide sustainable solutions to help us to limit our impact on the environment, improve our communities and increase our colleague's wellbeing. Here are some examples of the changes we have made this year.. Workwear We have switched to new workwear provider to provide our colleagues with sustainable workwear, to reduce our environmental impact. The UK based manufacturer and supplier significantly reduces the Airmiles in supply chain and the End of Life Garment Recycling Scheme will remove Landfill Waste from the product lifecycle Paper cups We switched from plastic cups to paper cups to reduce the amount of single use plastic items from our sites.
Paper cups are recycled, resulting in a reduction in Landfill Waste.
Pallets
We work with a pallet supplier that sources FSC accredited suppliers.
Pallets are delivered in full loads reducing road miles and broken/scrap pallets are recycled into pet bedding, Biomass or Chipboard.
