FY2022 Business overview 2022 has been a great year with retention of existing clients exceeding over 95%, additional organic growth as well as new business awards with Consumer Electronics manufacturers, Healthcare and Industrial. FY2023 Business strategies and forecast Yusen Logistics UK has an expansive warehouse estate strategically located throughout the UK. In support of our growth agenda, workstreams are well advanced to secure additional warehouses for both organic and new opportunities. With cost pressures and economic challenges widespread throughout the industry, continuous improvement and Kaizen practices are fully embedded within the operations. During 2022 a number of activities benefited the implementation of automation with continued focus on existing and new operations. Our ESG story and mid-long term business plan Contract Logistics are well underway with projects to meet our sustainability targets. Whilst primary focus seeks to unlock the greatest benefits, throughout the business colleagues are actively encouraged and empowered to make a difference with identifying, promoting and implementing changes that have a positive environmental impact.
New facilities will fully embrace sustainability infrastructure whilst activity continues to review retro fitting of PIR (passive infrared) lighting and solar panels at existing sites.
Road to Rail gains momentum to transition Port to Distribution Centre movements from road to rail and electric vehicle trials have proved successful, resulting in a number of electric vehicle commissions and further trials continuing in other transport activities. Renewable electricity now powers our warehouse estate throughout the UK, end of life workwear uniforms recycling trails has been initiated and tri-party discussions continue to with waste management providers to extend current bailing for cardboard and stretch-wrap to products such as polystyrene and other packaging medium.
