DIY Coin Bank
What Kids Learn: • Financial responsibility • Goal-setting and patience • Reusing before recycling
What You’ll Need: • Proflex, FiberWise or GC Control canisters • Craft knife or scissors (adult supervision required) • Markers, stickers, or coloured paper • Label Instructions: 1. Remove the original labels from the canisters. Tip: A little Sol-U-Mel® helps remove sticky residue easily. 2. Wash and dry the canisters thoroughly. 3. Cut a coin slot in the centre of the lid (adult assistance required). 4. Let your child decorate the container. 5. Label it with a savings goal (e.g., “Holiday Fund” or “Something Special”). 6. Place it somewhere visible and start saving!
Family Challenge: Turn this into a mini money lesson. Encourage your child to divide their savings into Spend, Save, and Share jars to build healthy money habits early.
