While the chapter was not able to host our ball in 2020, physi- cally, to raise funds for its scholar- ship and our community initiatives this year, the chapter was still able to find alternative avenues to sup- port our youth virtually, via dona- tions and our 2020 Silent Auction. The Silent Auction ran for a full week from 8:00am on Saturday, June 6, 2020 until 8:00pm on Saturday, June 13, 2020. The chapter had a variety of items ranging from fashion, sports memorabilia, and women's acces- sories, to entertainment, jewelry, and travel & leisure. Bid on or purchase items for oneself, a loved one, or as a gift for a recent 2020 graduate! The chapter successfully raised $12,010 in proceeds and $1,590 in donations from 22 donors and 48 total partici- pants. On July 25,2020 Cincinnati (OH) Alumni held our 2020-2021 Strategic Planning Session Virtu- ally. This was open to all brothers of the chapter. The 3 hour agenda included:
On April 10, 2020, Cincinnati (OH) Alumni held its first Zoom Meeting after COVID-19 forced us to function virtually. We have held virtual meetings each month from that point forward to now with the exception of the month of August. On May 8, 2020, the Cincinnati (OH) Alumni Chapter celebrated the achievements of their graduating undergraduate and graduate school brothers during the May Virtual Meeting. On June 6, 2020 with CO- VID-19 preventing its traditional banquet, and on a 90 degree day, the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation gave out $27,500 in scholarships to 28 deserving young men in our com- munity. Recipients included first year students entering college last fall and that marked the first year we were able to present financial awards to our past scholarship recipients who are still achieving at their universities in their second, third, or final year. 2020 marked the 22 nd consecu- tive year the Cincinnati (OH) Alum- ni Chapter Kappa Alpha Psi Founda- tion has presented the Fred Heisel Jr. Grant-In-Aid Award Scholarship, totaling over $200,000 to young men beginning and continuing their col- legiate careers across the country.
