E ven with the COVID-19 Pandemic in full affect during the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters, the Gamma Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. continued to achieve. The Chapter started the semester with Community Service on their minds by assisting with the stuff- ing and distribution of personal pro- tection items for the faculty, staff, and students at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Gamma Sigma made community service for its UAPB family and citizens of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, top priority. The Chapter amassed two thousand (2000) plus community ser- vice hours including, but not limited to the following: (1) Voter Registration and Census2020 drives for the stu- dents, faculty, and staff of UAPB, (2) distributing of Thanksgiving Baskets and 400 turkeys during Thanksgiving, (3) the giving of toys for Christmas
to less fortunate children and senior citizens (4) participating with 7 food pantry give-a-ways, (5) posting encouraging and informational items on social media to inspire the com- munity of UAPB and the city of Pine Bluff, (6) donating over 120 boxes of cereal to a local grocery store, (7) participating with 2 city-wide clean- ups, (8) donating water and personal protective items to local schools, (9) participating with 2 Room to Read
sessions with the 5 th grade class at Southwood Elementary School. During the Spring 2021 semester, Pine Bluff experienced record snow- fall. This resulted in several building on campus being deemed uninhabitable. The students staying on campus had to be moved to hotels in Little Rock, Arkansas. Gamma Sigma provided food and water to the displaced students. With all the giving Gamma Sigma
