Raleigh Alumni Chapters all held events to encourage voting by example. These events were impactful and covered by the local media. Chapters organized transportation for older voters and those who didn’t have transportation. A huge impact was also seen in voter education- al Zoom meetings held in Rocky Mount and Raleigh, NC. These virtual sessions educated voters on voting down the ballot. A pandemic can bring cabin fever and local businesses take an economic hit. The Raleigh (NC) Alumni Chapter hosted a socially distanced food truck rodeo with 18 minority-owned food trucks. Music was provided, donations were collected, blood drive, and voter registration was held. Chapters also continued to hold socially distanced roadside cleanups to get brothers mov- ing and keep our communities clean. The brothers of the province didn’t let the pandemic slow them down from giving back to the local community. A feel-good moment was witnessed by the world as the spotlight was on New Bern (NC) Alumni Chapter member Tabari Wallace (Eta Psi 1996) as he was a guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show for going above and beyond. In May Brother Wallace who is the principal of West Craven High School personally deliv- ered graduation signs to his graduating seniors’ homes and spearheaded an

effort to provide wi-fi for students who were distance learning.

the Edmund Pettus Bridge, Shon Barnes (Epsilon Alpha 1996) of the Burlington (NC) Alumni Chapter along with a few colleagues in law enforcement marched from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama to pay tribute to the 1965 Selma to Mont- gomery marches. The brothers of the Alpha Nu Chapter at North Carolina A&T State University continued their school’s legacy in civil rights as they collected and donated $3,300 to the Greensboro Bail Fund for supporting the release of activists. As remembered in 1960 four NC A&T students held a sit-in at a Woolworth lunch counter. Brothers in the Raleigh (NC) Alumni Chapter led by Tony Grif- fin (Alpha 1986) set up a Zoom meet- ing with Mayor Mary-Anny Baldwin of Raleigh, NC. The purpose was to proactively estab- lish a relationship with the mayor and city police. Not to be lost between the pandemic and the social just move- ment was the upcoming 2020 U.S. Presidential election. As directed by the Grand Board of Directors 2020 Non- Partisanship Policy chapters encouraged voting without endorsing candidates. The Alpha Nu Chapter collaborated with the Alpha Mu chapter of Delta Sigma Theta on the campus of NC A&T State University to produce a video on voter education. The Charlotte, Lum- berton, Rocky Mount, Smithfield and

The Alpha Epsilon Chapter created a Pandemic Relief Campaign and were able to raise $7,197.13. The Kappa Charitable Trust Fund, Inc collaborated with Southeast Raleigh Table, a local church in Raleigh, NC and the Food Bank of Eastern NC. As a result, a large- scale food give away was successfully accomplished as over 24,000 pounds of food were given away. The Wake Forest Rolesville (NC) Alumni and Raleigh (NC) Alumni chapters joined forces and volunteered with “Rise Against Hunger” as a result were able to provide 1,500 meals. The Greenville (NC) Alumni Chapter prepared over 300 meals this Thanksgiving. The Cary (NC) Alumni Chapter ensured over 200 families received turkeys and groceries in prepa- ration of Thanksgiving. The Hickory (NC) Alumni Chapter gave away food to the local community and the Wake Forest-Rolesville (NC) Alumni Chap- ter continued the tradition in adopting families and providing food and gifts for the holidays. Although Guide Right Programs could not function during this time as normal, the 2 nd Annual William E. Hooker Kappa League Summit was held virtually in the fall and was very successful. The kids had four fantastic sessions including Dollars & Sense, Criminal Justice A-Z, Entrepreneurship and Mental Health. We were able to give
