“I proudly, with honor and humility, accept this prestigious award, which is named after one of our most revered Founders, Elder Watson Diggs...There has been a village of people who walked in this journey with me...I had the good fortune to serve in leadership positions under seven Grand Polemarchs and now under the 34 th Reuben A. Shelton III, Esq., whose visionary leadership is navigating the Fraternity through the trials and tribulations of COVID-19.... There's one coach I did not serve under and that's the 26 th Grand Polemarch Dr. Ullysses McBride. Thank you for your support...and to the Chapters and Members of the Great Southern Province, thank you for your continued support.”

R onald E. Range is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Stillman College and Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has over thirty- five years’ experience in governmental and higher education administration. Brother Range is the Dean of the C.A. Fredd Campus of Shelton State Community College, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he also is the Director of Title III (federally funded pro- grams). He serves on the Executive Committee of the National Association of HBCU Title III Administrators and is the Financial Secretary of the organization. As Director of Title III, his duties include serving as the primary leader, planner, and administrator of the Title III Strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Program. He also serves as a liaison among College divisions, the U. S. Department of Education, and other agencies as required for project implementation and administration.

Initiated in the Stillman College Chapter, the Epsilon Epsilon of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc , during the spring of 1981, Brother Range was elected Vice Polemarch of the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter and served in many capacities as an un- dergraduate and alumni member. He holds the highest awards for service from both the Northport Alumni Chapter and the Southern Province and received the Grand Polemarchs’ Appreciation Award from Ronald R. Young in August of 1999 for his continuous outstanding service to Kappa and the community at large. Range has held leadership positions under seven (7) Grand Polemarchs.

He has a long and active affiliation with Kappa Alpha Psi. As a Life Member, Million Dollar Club – Kappa Foundation Member, Centennial Capital Campaign Century Club Member, Southern Province Life Member.
