associate professor of history at The Ohio State University, Brother Jeffries reminded brothers that in 1921 we were just 56 years past emancipation and toiling at the height of Jim Crow. It was against this backdrop in the American south that Brother John H. Alston (Ep- silon 1915), Caesar Felton Gayles (Pi 1921), Dr. Hamilton M. Holmes Sr. (Pi 1921), and others endured bringing Pi into existence and early prominence. Current Morehouse College President Dr. David A. Thomas was an honored guest for the reunion call. Not a mem- ber of the Fraternity, Dr. Thomas offered greetings on the occasion on behalf of the school and provided an update on Morehouse College. He also urged the Morehouse Men on the call to stay engaged with the school and recognized some of the Kappa Men in the school's current administration who are vital partners and resources for Dr. Thomas.

Levesque, on the importance of the call, "I was honored to be one of the call's hosts and thrilled that the pan- demic did not quell the spirit or resolve to mark history with a toast. As the cur- rent MCNAA Executive Director, I see and experience this same energy from Pi and Kappa brothers alike each and every day. As was in the beginning, part of the Association's work is student-facing. And, we continue to support students in their development to become leaders on campus and beyond. Through pro- grams, mentoring, and fundraising, we are still making a significant difference in the lives of undergraduates. Pi Chap- ter is ingrained in the history of More- house College, and we look forward to extending that legacy."

Brown (Pi 1954), the retired pastor of Dayton, OH's Bethel Baptist Church, provided the call's invocation and offered remarks about his experience at Morehouse College and Pi Chapter as the most senior member. Perseverance was one of the critical themes echoed by many of the dis- tinguished speakers. In the remarks given by Dr. Hasan Jeffries (Pi 1991),
