Meridian Waste Closes Two Acquisitions

Meridian Waste has closed on the purchase of a new ac- quisition in the Harrisonburg,Virginia,marketplace, its third hauling operation in the state since beginningVirginia oper- ations in February 2017. The acquisition includes Trash or Treasure, LLC, servicing residential and commercial small business in Harrisonburg and throughout Rockingham County. This asset purchase marks Meridian Waste’s seventeenth acquisition since the company transitioned to private stock under the ownership of Warren Equity Partners (WEP) in April 2018. Additionally, Meridian also acquired McConnell Waste Sys- tems, Inc., located in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. New York Legislators Request DEC Study Of Glass Recycling Two NewYork state legislators want the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to help find alterna- tive uses for recycled glass. Assemblyman Steve Englebright and Sen. James Sanders have introduced A.6033 and S.4094, directing the state DEC to study alternative municipal uses for recycled glass and to submit a report containing its findings along with legislative proposals as it deems necessary to implement its recommendations.
