( ( A r o these are the words that the Lord spake con- A \cerning Israel and concerning Judah. For thus saith the Lord i We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child ? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness ? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like i t : it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the. Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: But they shajl serve the Lord their God, and David their king [Christ], whom I will raise up unto them. Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord;neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, . . none shall make him afraid” (Jer. 30:4-10). T he N azi P rogram T ouching the J ew C learly S tated The Nazi program, proclaimed before the Revolution, called for the disfranchisement of the Jews, even though their forbears were dwellers in Germany back in the fourth century; the banishment of all Jews who entered Germany since 1914 ; the annihilation of all Jews who should-attempt to remain after expulsion was ordered; the extinction, even by sterilization, of all Jewdom so far as Germany is con cerned; the death of all Germans marrying either Jews or Jewesses, the latter likewise to be slain for presuming to have the right to marry Germans ; the exclusion of Jews from educational institutions, from the fine arts, from the playhouses, from the journalistic, medical, judicial, and practically every other profession; the complete boycott of all Jewish tradesmen ;1m short, the program called for the literal extermination of all the Jews in Germany, by ban ishment or by starvation or by violence. T hje _N azi -.P rogram in -1E xecution The full measure of this program must not be meted out too suddenly, for that might arouse undue resentment within the few nations on earth that yet make some preten sion to being civilized! Slowly apd sprely, however, this plan is being carried o £ r Wei| md*\(mds which Dr. Franck, Reich Minister of Justice ( !), used recently in ad dressing a mass meeting of \zwyars:“WhattheJewsinGer- many are now experiencing is not yet full measure. Ger many is entitled to do with her Jews whatever she wishes, even to the extent of annihilation.” Herr Julius Streicher, publisher of the Nazi newspaper, Der Stuermer, of Nuremberg, and appointed as the head of Germany’s anti-Jewish boycott campaign in April, 1933, stated in a New Year’s appeal to the German people: “In 1933, we only broke the Jewish supremacy. In 1934, laws must be issued that will result in the complete annihilation of the Jews in Germany.” “How many Jews,” says the Quarterly Review (July, 1933), “have been victims of the terror, how many have been flogged, tortured, and have died, and how many im- *Fourth in a series.

prisoned, will probably never be known.” A joint mani festo of the British Trade Union Congress and'the Labour Party, printed in the London Times (July 26, 1933), says: “Every day men disappear. Every day human bodies are found in the woods and in the streams. Nobody knows when a missing person will be discovered as a corpse beaten to death by the Hitler murderers.” Harry Carr, famed columnist on the staff- of the Los Angeles Times, and re cently in Berlin, says: “Hitler’s assurances to the Jews that they will not be persecuted do not seem to be reassuring to the Jews. The ghetto in Berlin is.a study in terror.” “The drive against the Jews,” says the Contemporary j Review (November, 1933), “is increasing in ferocity. There is anything from two to four million who have parents or even grandparents who were Jews, for the ban only stops at the third generation. The ordinary Jews have less chance of employment in Germany than has the habit ual criminal in this country [England]. About a third of the Jewish population is already faced with destitution.” Those who believe that reports of anti-Semitism in Ger many are false propaganda, should read from Hitler’s own biography, Mein Kampf : “If at the beginning of and dur ing the war, twelve or fifteen thousand of these Hebrew corrupters of the people had been held under poison gas, then, the sacrifice of millions at the front would not have been in vain.” He forgets to mention that from ten to fifteen thousand Hebrews died on the battle-fields of the war in defense of the Fatherland! ¡Once, not so long ago, Germany was regarded as the most cultured nation on earth. One’s education was not complete unless it was climaxed in Germany. But, lo! How are the mighty fallen! Germany seems to have dis posed of all the cerebrum stuff she once possessed —shipped it, to Palestine! And what can be expected from the cere bellum she may have le ft! A change like this—an insane anti-Semitic outburst in that which was tooted to be man’s most advanced culture—in the light of the clear word of u _ 52 prophecy—how tremendously significant!]^After studying , the situation on the ground, the editor of the Catholic Com- monweal {New York) exclaims: “A persecution of the Jews, which in its extent probably surpasses any recorded instance of persecution in Jewish history!” C annot the D enizens of the S hades I mpart A ny W isdom to H itler and H is A nti -S emitic A llies ? It might be enlightening to Hitler and all his ilk, “Brown Shirts,” “Red Shirts,” “Silver Shirts,” White Sheets, and all other “Shirts” and sheets, if they would peruse the Scriptures which foretold, centuries in advance, even to minute details at times, the rise and fall of empire. All events due to come to pass, came to pass on the tick-of the clock, even as written. Moreover, do Hitler and other archpersecutors of Israel ever read history? It might be profitable for them to take a little stroll out into the ceme tery of the nations. A uniform lesson awaits them there: The nations which have dealt fairly, kindly, mercifully, with Israel, have been blessed above their neighbors. The nations that have oppressed and maltreated Israel have written out
