A Strong Belief to Keep Pushing Forward At the heart of any accomplishment, there is always a strong core belief that holds it all together. The couple kept moving forward by attending and participating in Melaleuca events to learn more from other leaders, be it about the products or the skills to build a successful Melaleuca business. They consistently reinforced their ‘WHY’, and their belief that only through Melaleuca it is possible to achieve the kind of success they have experienced. “Melaleuca has given us peace of mind and more time with the family. With real residual income, we’ve attained financial and time freedom. Why would anyone ever want to stop doing something so wonderful and liberating?” Norashikin says. “Our family’s health has improved–our elder daughter has fully recovered after suffering from eczema for 13 years, and our younger daughter’s asthma condition has improved tremendously, while my blood pressure has dropped to a normal level,” Abdul Wahid continues. Both of their daughters are building the business too because of the positive product experiences. Nor Diyanah is now a Senior Director 6, and Nor Atikah is a Director 3. “Our lives are more meaningful and purposeful as we are creating a legacy of enhancing people’s lives by delivering total wellness, be it through physical, financial, environmental or personal wellness,” the couple muses. They advise new business builders to never let the momentum slow down or stop. Practice makes perfect, and builders will only get better if they do and learn more. “Some people might think that success is linked to destiny, but I strongly believe that anyone can succeed as long as you have the determination, with God’s will,” Norashikin comments. Norashikin and Abdul Wahid conclude by sharing their goals, “This year we will advance to Executive Director 5!” Not only that, they also look forward to developing one Executive Director and two Senior Directors, and further help another 500 households to benefit from Melaleuca.

9 Eric Toh and Stephanie Thian. “It’s quite funny actually. Eric and I were both in an MLM company for 12 years, and he decided to leave. I invited them to my house with the intention of convincing them to stay, but Eric came prepared with a Melaleuca presentation,” Norashikin reminisces. Instead of convincing Eric to remain, Norashikin was inspired to enroll and try Melaleuca products for her daughter, who has been suffering from eczema. That was the beginning of their journey. In the quest for their family’s physical wellness, they fell in love with the products. Next came financial wellness. As former MLM business builders, Norashikin and Abdul Wahid knew how difficult it was to build a sustainable business with recurring residual income. Melaleuca’s Consumer Direct Marketing™, and the potential of earning a real residual income, captured their attention. “We wanted to find a business that could flourish throughout our golden years and last not just in our lifetime, but in our children’s lifetime as well. We wanted a continued legacy that will give us peace of mind. That was our ‘WHY’,” Norashikin explains. Their journey in building the Melaleuca business were, nonetheless, paved with challenges. Many of their peers chided the couple’s decision to leave their lucrative former MLM business as foolhardy. “Yes, we were successful in the previous business, but with the high attrition rate, low repeat sales and poor reorder rate, we knew that kind of success was short-term and not sustainable,” Norashikin recalls, saying that she and Abdul Wahid were steadfast in their decision and persevered to make it work. It was also not easy convincing their Malay community to switch stores as old habits die hard, and they were ignorant on the environmental and health benefits using all-natural, eco- friendly products brings. “Some were willing to try, but were not willing to purchase each month as Preferred Customers,” Norashikin describes some of their earlier roadblocks. “We learned how to cope with rejections. All I can say is, it just gets better with practice, and with time, you can see that people begin to understand the benefits Melaleuca offers,” Norashikin says. They achieved Senior Director 3 in the third month of their enrollment, and that solidified the couple’s strong belief in Melaleuca and all it stands for in helping them overcome the challenges. Achieving Executive Director status in January 2014 was a momentous occasion as well, as the couple became Melaleuca Malaysia’s very first Malay Executive Directors. Life was great for them, but slowly they found themselves stagnant. “It took us more than three years to advance to our current Executive Director 2 status in May 2017. I’d say we definitely took our time!” Norashikin says laughingly. But they have definitely changed the game now as they advanced to Executive Director 3 just 5 months later. Their strong belief in the products and the company kept Norashikin and Abdul Wahid pushing forward in their Melaleuca business no matter how hard things were. During their flat spot, the couple went to work and focused on the motions of getting re-acquainted with the important daily activities. “It was back to basics for us all over again. We made four to five calls daily and created that momentum amongst our business builders as well to motivate one another,” explains Norashikin, continuing that she made sure she made friends everywhere she went, so that she’d
