Mae Jeon Short Biography.
Mae Jeon was born and educated in South Korea. She was a zealous childhood artist until her teen years. Studied commercial art as Bachelor of Visual Arts and Master of Commercial Arts from Hong-ik University in Seoul, Korea. Later on, she worked as a graphic designer for 4 years in Seoul and moved to USA after marry. In New York, she had worked as a graphic designer for 22 years. In early 2000s, she was introduced to computer graphic for her design work. Then, she started exploring digital mediums for various art and found amazing possibilities for fine art. There, she rediscovered her passion in fine art and started pursuing the fine artist career in digital medium. Mae had first solo show with digital art in 2003 in New York. Since then, she has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions, art fairs, in USA and abroad, and participated in International Biennales in Florence, Chianciano, Venice. Mae Jeon is a permanent Certified Artist of the Museum of the Americas, and a Member of the National Association of Women Artists in US. She currently lives in Staten Island, New York.
Artist Statement: “My recent years’ artwork reflects my Christian spiritual journey. I use the floral subject within digital medium in order to transform my spiritual ideas and divine vocabularies into the pictorial images.
