Hudsonville Community Fair Hudsonville’s well-known annual fair traces its roots back to a visit to the 1933 World’s Fair in Chicago. Inspired by the experience, the families of R. Hoezee and Wm. Vander Laan organized the first Hudsonville Fair in 1934 at the local high school. The event featured exhibits, band concerts, spelling bees, baseball games, parades, and even horse races.

As the fair grew in popularity, it relocated to Hughes Park before settling into its current location along Chicago Drive in 1963. Today, the Hudsonville Fair is a staple of summer, drawing over 80,000 visitors each August for thrilling rides, delicious food, engaging exhibits, and a true sense of community tradition. Visitors can walk through the animal and craft barns and purchase tickets for the motorcross and monster truck grandstand shows.
