About Hudsonville Hudsonville is located along I-196, midway between Grand Rapids and Holland, in one of the fastest-growing areas in the state of Michigan. The city began in 1856 when Homer Hudson settled in Georgetown Township to start a nursery to raise fruit trees. In 1872, Hudsonville was named after Homer Hudson. The area became a village in 1927 and was officially incorporated as a city in 1957. The city has a variety of community parks, paved pathways, and natural areas to explore. Hudsonville is known for its family focused values, excellent public and private schools, and easy commutes to both the lakeshore and downtown Grand Rapids.
