The Lakes South Morang College Newsletter PRINCIPAL REPORT

WHOLE SCHOOL

Our school nurse will be conducting a Safe Partying Education session for Year 11 and 12 students on Monday of Week 11, during Session 1. The information presented will also be sent home to parents/carers to ensure they are informed. We are also proud to announce that one of our Year 12 students, Charlotte A, has advanced to the state finals in Cross Country. She will be representing our College early next term. Congratulations Charlotte!

Students from Years 4 - 12 have recently completed the Attitudes to School Survey, with results expected to be available in Term 3. This survey provides valuable feedback that helps us understand and improve the student experience.

Additionally, we held two whole - school out - of - uniform days, successfully raising funds for important causes:

School outdoor furniture: $434 raised

Cancer Council: $450 raised

PRIMARY CAMPUS

These initiatives not only support our school environment and community causes but also foster a sense of responsibility and community spirit among our students. In conclusion, this Term has been a period of significant academic and extracurricular activity across our College. The dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, and ES staff are evident in the many achievements and events we've celebrated. As we look forward to the next Term, I encourage all students to review their feedback, set new goals, and continue striving for excellence.

Our Year 5 students enjoyed a fantastic 4 - day experience on the Secondary Campus, getting a taste of secondary life. They participated in subjects such as Food Studies, Product Design & Technology, and Dance/Drama, which provided them with a valuable insight into what lies ahead. The Year 6 students have been engaged in a Social Enterprise project throughout Term 2, promoting a Zoos Victoria campaign. Each Year 6 team planned and budgeted with $10 each to create a product or service for the younger students to purchase. Last week the Prep - Year 5 students enthusiastically spent their Dojo points at this 'Market - day' event, joined by some very excited teachers as well.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our College community.

Sincerely,
