The Lakes South Morang College Newsletter STUDENT PERSPECTIVE

PRIMARY REFLECTION GRACE, TRI THANH, VISHAL & SAANVI YEAR 6 CAPTAINS

This Term the yard has improved with the amount of rubbish, the Sports Club has been awesome. I ’ m very excited for next year as I am in VIA, I can ’ t wait to challenge myself as a secondary student at The Lakes and I ’ m also excited to be on a new campus with amazing facilities. Our teachers have been working hard to help keep students safe in the yard, to make learning fun and helping kids understand what they are learning. They have been adding colour and detail to their mini lessons and making fun activities. We appreciate and love our teachers at The Lakes. Grace T This Term, people have really been enjoying 5/6 Sport. We have been playing handball, netball and AFL. The A netball team came runners up, the B netball team came 5th, the girls handball came 4th, the boys handball finished 6th and the AFL team ended up in 4th. In the second last game of the season, we were lucky enough to try out our new jerseys which we looked stunning in. I ’ m also very excited for next year, as I was given a scholarship to be part of our VIA program. I ’ m very proud to be selected to get a scholarship. I can ’ t wait to see what lies in store for me. Tri Thanh L Our basketball court is currently being built and we are all very excited about it and it is all most halfway done. The Year 6 students are starting to get excited about graduation which will be hosted at a new venue. The yard has been really clean so keep it up and keep putting your rubbish in the bin. I am really enjoying of being a School Captain, it has been challenging and very rewarding, I look forward to continuing to work in this role and improve our school. Vishal S Being a School Captain has been great. I have really got to explore and venture out to different opportunities. I loved running tours for parents/carers, being in the handball team, presenting at assembly and attending a leadership forum in the city. A few weeks ago, the whole school enjoyed performing at the Rhythm Revival and everyone did a great job. The Year 6’ s did Market Day hosting games for the younger year levels with toys and prizes. Winter Woolies and Cancer council fundraisers were a huge success, we raised funds for very important causes. Saanvi C
