HAGAN HOMES COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION ON £1.9M CARRICKFERGUS PROJECT

GRAHAM CONTINUES TO EXPAND ITS PORTFOLIO OF PRESTIGIOUS PROJECTS
York Street Station in Belfast, and a £6.9m battery energy storage system at Dunore Point Water Treatment Works, are among the latest projects completed by GRAHAM. Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd cut the ribbon to mark the passenger opening of the new modern, accessible York Street Station. It includes a new passenger footbridge between platforms, platform canopies to cover passenger waiting areas and a new public realm space. A second, ongoing phase will include demolition of the existing building and works to the remainder of the station platforms.
The Dunore Point project is aimed at reducing long-term client NI Water’s carbon footprint, with its 4.1 MW battery powered by an existing solar farm. The battery boasts a 5.6 MWh total capacity, which helps to store surplus energy generated on site for use during peak times, lowering costs and keeping water flowing. The Co Down company has also completed an interior fit-out of Primark’s newly- refurbished store at Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre in East London, and been named as preferred bidder for a project to redevelop the Tavern and Allen stands at Lord’s Cricket Ground. www.graham.co.uk

Ballyclare-based Hagan Homes has broken ground for its newest housing development, Rockview Lane, a 10-home site at North Road, Carrickfergus. Construction began this spring and is scheduled to reach completion this autumn, with the £1.9m project comprising six semi-detached houses and four duplexes equipped with energy- efficient features such as solar panels. Each property features an Ember PS heating control system, modern fitted kitchens and pre- wiring for BT and Sky Q, as well as USB sockets in the kitchen and all bedrooms. The construction phase of Rockview Lane has created 30 jobs, with Carrickmacstay Developments Ltd appointed as main contractor for the project. FIRST PHASE OF £7M ENNISKILLEN SOCIAL HOUSING DEVELOPMENT GETS UNDERWAY
A new 40-home development on the Sligo Road in Enniskillen is underway, with handover of the first 20-unit phase estimated for autumn 2024 and completion in early 2026. Newpark Homes is main contractor and developer of the Choice Housing scheme, which represents an investment of more than £7m and will incorporate apartments, two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, and wheelchair-accessible bungalows. The project team includes architect McCartan Muldoon, quantity surveyor Naylor Devlin, McAdam Design and surveyor McGahon. Michael McDonnell, Choice Group Chief Executive, said, “This is one of 22 schemes our development team currently has on sites across Northern Ireland, in what has been a very busy 18 months for our new- build programme.” Communities Minister Gordon Lyons
recently joined the Choice Housing team to view Northern Ireland’s first fully-mixed tenure apartment scheme, located at the King’s Hall site in Belfast and delivered by H&J Martin Construction.
