THE CIPP

CIPP Consult CIPP Consult is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals. Our consultants are all professionally qualified people with experience of delivering payroll services and solutions to organisations ranging in both size and sector.

In accordance with its Chartered status, the CIPP provides payroll, reward, benefits and HR advice which is completely independent of all relevant software and service suppliers. All of our consultants are appropriately experienced and qualified in their fields and we will work with you to ensure that your expected outcomes of the assignments undertaken are fully met.

The range of services we provide is extensive and the following are just a few of the areas which we believe may be of interest to you.

General consulting Payroll departments, in particular, are often so focussed on the principle of ensuring that all employees are paid ‘on time and accurately’ that they rarely have the opportunity to take a step back and review the way that they operate. At CIPP Consult we specialise in reviewing the payroll operation (and its interaction with other departments including HR and finance) with a ‘fresh pair of eyes’ to recommend innovative improvements to processes and ways of working.

These exercises include: l Measuring, analysing and reporting on your payroll function costs against our benchmark data l Analysing how data flows into, and out from, your payroll department identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce late submissions (and costly supplementary pay runs), reduce late notification of leavers and therefore overpayments l Reviewing and suggesting improvements to your payroll documentation l Reviewing any part of the payroll operation that you know needs review but you don’t have the time to do yourself

Procurement

Outsourcing If you are considering business process outsourcing for your payroll and/or HR functions we can assist you in assessing whether that is a good option for your organisation. Changing your payroll service provider or software solution? If you have made the decision to outsource for the first time, to change your outsourced service provider or to change your in-house software solution we can assist in: l Specifying your requirements l Preparing invitation to tender (ITT) document l Analysing ITT responses l Preparing for supplier demonstrations and presentations (our consultants have considerable experience of working for service and software providers and know which questions suppliers hate answering)

Once you have made your choice of service/software we are also able to provide advice to you during the implementation and testing phases including acting as an independent adviser during project meetings.

Project management We can provide experienced project managers to manage the whole implementation of a new service/solution on the client side or we can manage your own internal projects for you. In either case we are able to:

l Produce, amend and update project plans l Control and monitor the project budget l Chair regular project meetings and steering groups l Manage change control l Contract negotiations with third party implementation partners l Produce remedial plans for projects that are over budget and out of scope
