Cross-Functional Use Case: Education - IRI Training

Use Case Objective:

Help SCPP vendors understand what data is available and how to utilize it and process it.

Use Case Benefits: In a good partnership, vendors should be bringing potential problem areas to the attention of both category and supply chain so that efforts can be focused on solutions. By understanding the data provided to them in IRI, and how to utilize it to do root cause analysis, vendors will have the tools that they need to bring process improvement to the forefront.

Process/Analytical Steps:

Metrics to Review:

1. Conduct initial training on IRI 2. Forward monthly IRI lead Best Practice training sessions to vendor

• IRI definitions of metrics available • Service Level • In-Stock • Shipper Tool • Post-Event Analysis

• Sales • Shipments • CAO on hand • DC Fill Rate • DC Inventory

3. Provide templates for common scenarios (post event analysis, service level, store in-stock, etc.) 4. Show vendors during weekly checkpoints how to utilize reports provided to them and define metrics along the way 5. Encourage vendors to do work on their own after education, do not do it for them • After teaching, vendors should be reminded of where they can utilize reports and metrics so that they begin to action on their own • Continue to monitor for accuracy • Set expectation that vendors bring data to meetings with category team to offer insight • As vendors become more comfortable with data, socialize it with the rest of supply chain to show the benefit of utilizing 6. Establish best practices and bring ideas from some vendors to collaborate with others (knowledge share)

• IRI – To conduct system training and reference for questions • Category- To teach what metrics being presented mean

• In-Stock - To align on metric validity and meaning/use in day-to-day execution • Forecasting- To align on metric validity and meaning/use in day-to-day execution • Vendor- To learn processes and bring data to ADUSA for insight
