She also shares about a client who came in needing recovery. “Admissions takes before-and-after pictures. You would never know she was the same woman who had come into the program. She came trying to get her children back. And in the end, she was reunited with both kids and was put into our Higher Ground housing program. When she went to court, even the judge was so impressed with her, before and after. I’ve seen quite a few ladies that I am totally impressed with.” When asked if she had any shining
moment of achievement, she answered, “You mean besides coming to work every day? I live in Covington, Georgia, an hour-and-a-half drive. I have been commuting like this for 17 years. So, that in itself tells you it's for love. Because you get attached to these ladies once you get to know them and their story, where they’ve come from, and what they’ve gone through in life. So, there are no accolades. . . It's just a joy to me to see these ladies’ progress. To see the change.” Moraine adds, “I was clueless about addiction until I started working here seventeen years ago. Mary Hall Freedom Village is doing an awesome job.”
