Mary Hall Freedom Village encourages women who are farther along in their recovery, to help the newcomers. “They see they are not alone. They get to see what love looks like from a positive experience. For them to understand that there is hope for them and it's okay to be optimistic. To hear from individuals who are doing it and actually have done it. They have something in front of them that they can actually grasp.” Rosa shares: “It’s a great privilege to work not

only with the counselors but with the ladies themselves and to actively see change happen. To be a part of the ladies' lives, to be part of the group, and to counsel. The goal is to promote families and to promote change.” Rosa’s hope for the future is simply to continue to do the work that’s being done. “We understand the great need and the desire to not just stay here but to expand in mental health, and to open up, not just to the ladies in recovery, but to the community at large. Even though

it's twenty-seven years later, I still believe it's just the beginning and hope that Mary Hall Freedom Village will expand, not just in Atlanta, but to different states.” Rosa has been with Mary Hall Freedom Village for a year and a half, and she has seen its importance. “It is a privilege to play a part in someone's life. To be given an opportunity such as this, to be a part of a team that really cares about people, not just about people, but to see people thrive. That is something I’m humbled by, and it is life- changing.”
