REFLECTION ON EASTER . . . A s I was reading the Easter story all over again I read the fam iliar words, “ . . . the angel rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it...” so all morning I’ve been thinking about the wonderful sense o f humor God must have given this angel because he not only moved this huge stone but then very decidedly sat down on it. I can isee him as he sits down, dusting off his |hands and sitting down with a definite smile o f satisfaction on his face. Oh Lord, help me, when my prob lems get as big as boulders to remem ber that angel. Give to me the confi dence and trust to know the stone will be moved and then restore my sense o f humor by reminding me how the angel sat down!
care and she’ll take pride in keeping her dresses neat and clean. Instead o f implying that hanging up her clothes is a chore, praise her fo r her responsi bility in taking care o f her own things. Your little girl will need your guid ance in choosing her clothes until she has developed taste and confidence. When she needs a new outfit fo r a birthday party or another occasion, take her shopping and let her tell the saleswoman that she’s looking for a “ special dress!” Let her look through the racks o f clothes and select her fa vorites. Then tactfully help her choose the one best suited to her shape and age. Another way to increase junior flair fo r fashion is to show her how to co ordinate an entire outfit Point out to her how gloves, socks, slips, hat or hair ribbon are all part o f the over-all effect. I f she puts on her new fresh dress but wears a conflicting color in her socks, explain how this detracts from her appearance. Teaching your daughter how to care fo r her clothes can be fun fo r both o f you— thanks to the enticing new styles, colors and easy-care fabrics that can be made “ party-proof.” O f course, when it comes to taking care o f little girls’ clothes, most o f the work — washing and ironing — still falls to Mom. You will make the task easier on yourself and teach her some valuable lessons at the same time if you keep up with the newest develop ments in clothes-care items, such as cold water detergents fo r colored or shrink able fabrics, the new no-scorch, no stick, no-clog spray starch, the auto matic washers and dryers with hot and cold cycles. W ith today’s new aids, show her how to care fo r white gloves, how to keep her shoes looking neat and new. Above all, show a little girl how to take care o f accidental spills on her best dresses. Often the youngster who develops the proper concern fo r her clothes may be come overly distraught at any accidents to them. Modem science has even solved that problem. F or instance, starch her party frock s in advance with P ruf, the spray starch with a soil-repellent that puts an invisible pro tective coating on clothes, so that lit tle girls — and big ones — can simply blot up spills with a tissue. Then there’s no need to cry over spilled anything. Stains can be whisked away — just TH E KING'S BUSINESS

EASTER AND LITTLE GIRLS Little girls aren’t b om with a flair fo r fashion and a knack fo r good grooming. They have to be taught. The younger set, however, now be comes interested in learning these things at a very early age.
