S P O R T S UNE PREMIÈRE DÉFAITE POUR LES NATIONALS DE ROCKLAND

Kemptville took the lead in the second period, following a goal from Chase Broda, assisted by Chase Lammi. But Rockland’s Craft scored his second of the game during a power play before the period was over, assisted by Sullivan and Simon Labelle. The scoring being even 2 to 2 and with no team scoring in the third period, overtime had to be played in order to decide who would win. Luckily for Rockland, Captain Vermaeten managed to score within one and a half minutes of the extra period, assisted by Smith and Sullivan. Rockland therefore won the match three to two. Rockland defeats Brockville Rockland faced off against the Brockville Braves on September 15 again at the Rich- craft Sensplex. Once again, the Nationals scored first, following a goal from Justin Dauphinais, assisted by Labelle and Hunter Foreshew. Brockville’s Simon Kerr scored about seven minutes later, assisted by Cody Bruchkowski and Colin Stacey. Rockland took the lead in the second period, as Scrivens found the back of the Brockville net, aided by Craft. The Braves did manage to tie the game late in the third period, as Will Torriani scored unassisted. The game was therefore once again decided in overtime. Scriven scored his second of the game, once against assisted by Craft, within ten seconds of the puck dropping onto the ice. The Nationals won the game 3 to 2.

The Rockland Nationals won two of their last three games, falling short against the Kanata Lasers on September 13. The Nats faced off against the Lasers at the Richcraft Sensplex. Kanata scored two quick goals in the first period, taking the lead early. Jordan Morgan, assisted by Luka Bolduc, managed to squeeze the puck past Rockland goaltender Cyrus Martin, a mere minute into the game. Paul Larabie then scored on the power play, assisted by Liam Marchauser and Trevor Peoze. Rockland did, however, manage to score on the power play before the end of the period, courtesy of Gunnar Smith, assisted by Assistant Captain Cameron Scrivens and Aidan Hilton. The second period started well for the Nats, as Captain Matthew Vermaeten scored early, during a power-play opportunity, assisted by Smith. But Kanata’s Larabie continued his stunning performance, he too scoring on the power play, assisted by Luca Nocita and Poeze. The Lasers’ Julian Recine, assisted by Ryan Park and Poeze, assisted by Nocita and Larabie both scored, giving their team a five to two lead. Kanata’s Lukash Matthews opened the third period with a power-play goal, assisted by Morgan. It was quickly followed by a Rockland goal, from Joe Jordan, assisted by Justin Dauphinais and Dean Taylor. Les Cougars se sont inclinés 11-2 le 11 septembre contre Saint-Isidore, puis ont été battu 1-0 sur leur patinoire locale samedi soir, au cours de la fin de semaine de la mi-septembre, lorsqu’ils ont accueilli le Hull-Volant de Gatineau. Les Cougars affronteront les Castors de Clarence Creek lors de leur match d’ouverture de la saison le 21 septembre, puis auront une revanche contre Saint-Isidore, le dimanche suivant. La série de matchs d’exhibition du club de hockey junior de Saint-Isidore s’est révélée prometteuse pour la saison régulière avec une victoire de 11-2 contre les champions en titre de la ligue, les Cougars de Vankleek Hill, le 11 septembre, et une autre contre le Hull-Volant de Gatineau sur la patinoire de Saint-Isidore le 13 septembre, 6-5. Gatineau a rendu la pareille dimanche en battant Saint-Isidore 8-5. Le 21 septembre,

Assistant Captain Craft scored within eight minutes of the period, assisted by Assistant Captain Jack Sullivan and Wil- liam Collins. Kemptville replied six minutes later, with a goal from Gavin Wood, assisted by Zachary Frescura and Ryan Pawlikowski.

Les Rangers de South Grenville ont battu les Castors le dimanche après-midi suivant à l’aréna de Clarence Creek. Les Castors affronteront les Cougars de Vankleek Hill pour leur premier match de la saison, le 21 septembre. Ils rentrent chez eux dimanche après-midi pour accueillir les Royals de Bytown.
