he BRRRR method of real estate investing (Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat) has served many investors well. And that’s especially true for Andrew and Phil- lip Syrios of Stewardship Invest- ments in Kansas City, MO. As of this writing, the brothers and their father Bill have amassed over 300 properties and 550 units in the Kansas City metro area. In addition, they are starting a new non-profit for renters who have fallen on hard times and have an educational YouTube channel aptly T
titled “The Syrios Brothers” which discusses all things real estate, investing and personal finance.
“If I just manage to break even for 25 years, I will have paid off my entire mortgage,” he thought. (And of course, that doesn’t even account for appreciation, cash flow and the many other benefits of real estate investing.) Unfortunately, the first go wasn’t particularly successful. The real estate market in Oregon back in the early 80s was in a deep recession and Bill wasn’t particularly handy. The first home he bought was medi - ocre. AHUMBLE BEGINNING It all started in Portland, Oregon back in 1981, three years before Andrew was even born and six years before Phillip was. That was when Bill Syrios decided to dip his toe into rental properties. Bill had always liked houses and became particu- larly interested in investing in real estate when he studied a simple amortization schedule.
