Work in Los Angeles Harbor. Great satisfaction is felt in the cordial welcome our Mr. Zimmerman almost in variably receives from officers and crew aboard vessels frequenting our harbor. . It is a cause for thanksgiving to God whose blessing on this fruitful and hopeful de partment of our work is seen in the con version of souls. China. Hans Von Klitzing writes that he has opened a'new station, forty miles from Pi Yang Hsien, and the place is designated as So-Ho-Dien, Honan Province. He will need money for a building and we trust that we may be led to pray definitely that the Lord may generously supply all the increased need. South America. Two of our students, Mr. Van V. Ed- dings and Mr. V. V. Morgan, have their faces turned toward Venezuela, South America, and we are hoping that they may be able to leave early in January. Mr. Van Eddings is the President of the Fish ermen’s Club and Mr. Morgan, who will
graduate from the school at the close of this term, is the Financial Secretary. South America is the Neglected Continent and our hearts are full of desire that a larger number of men and women may be led to this priest-ridden, Bible-barren land. Word from Messrs. Sloan and Lines Bakersfield, Cal., Oct. 16, 1913. Dear Fellow Laborers: . We are spending this week in the river bottom close to Bakersfield. It is mar velous how the folks come out—fifty to sixty every evening. Last night we had five conversions, all grown people. All the companies in the Kern River field are clos ing down or letting out men. One thou sand men have been let out since the first of the month. We go on to Maricopa next Monday.
