CASSAGLEN CHAROLAIS
At Cassaglen, Charolais cattle are more than a business — they are a way of life. The stud was established in 2013 with the purchase of two dark red Panache heifers from the Mullum Charolais herd. Today, their daughters and granddaughters continue their legacy. Influential genetics within the herd include PINAY, TR Red Smoke and Palgrove Emblem. Cassaglen Raptor, our 2022 Ekka Interbreed Champion, remains our leading joining sire. Rather than selecting heavily for any single trait, our focus is on breeding functional, fertile cattle that thrive and perform. Keeping our herd intentionally small allows us to be highly selective, retaining only our very best females and continually improving each generation. Our herd is based near Stanthorpe on the often-harsh granite country of the Southern Downs. Bulls are developed slowly, grown out on pasture, with the majority sold straight from the paddock as yearlings. We take great pride in presenting sound, healthy, fit bulls that are ready to go to work. Cassaglen is proudly family-driven. Our sons Fletcher, Darcy and Emmett play an active role in the stud, from showing cattle and selecting joinings to assessing progeny and helping shape the future direction of the herd.

V8 is an easy keeping bull with a sensible nature and plenty of sire appeal. His dam is a herd favourite; she is a larger framed cow with good constitution, a perfect udder and quiet disposition. She won Supreme exhibit at Stanthorpe Show with V8 at foot. Under Rated her first calf was Calf Champion Bull at Beef 24. She currently has an impressive heifer calf at foot by Cassaglen Tonka and PTIC to Raptor. Her dam E20 was Grand Champion Charolais female at Ekka 2012. V8 will be exhibited at Ekka and sells with 60 straws. Small amount of semen retained for in herd use only.3 Day and 3 Germ Blood.

A joining that never disappoints, his full sister Red Diamond won her class at Beef 24 and her first calf is in our Ekka 2026 Congress team. His dam is a smaller framed cow with a perfect udder and is still no fuss testing in calf at 12 years old. Vegas is a sound bull with a strong clean polled head.
