Learning Activities – Take Your Teammate to Work Program : to increase staff’s awareness of what their teammates to do across the department to promote an appreciation of one another’s roles and to inform future growth opportunities via mentoring and/or shadowing. 3. Feedback – Positive Praises Program : to ensure that compliments and positive feedback are recognized and celebrated to promote continued growth in service delivery. • With the support of our partners in the OCHRO Department and CME Department, the three Point Action Plan is being carefully designed and is planned for implantation in 2025. Fostering a positive work environment where staff feel safe, valued, and empowered is so important and enables our teams to model the City’s values of respect, accountability and dedication both at the operations yards and within the community we serve.
Environmental Services • Public Works has developed a portfolio-wide program to keep workplace culture and Service Excellence at the forefront of everything we do. • Environmental Services’ area of focus was growth and development. We heard that there was a desire for more opportunities for improvement within the workplace through job shadowing, mentoring, and/or workshops and training. There was also an expressed appreciation of internal promotions to leadership roles and stretch assignments. • Environmental Services’ Employee Engagement Committee held information, brainstorming and feedback sessions both in-person and anonymously to better understand the type, look and feel of growth and development opportunities that are being sought out across the department.
