Last year, ICPF and The Royal Group worked together on a corrugated boat race at Morton West High School in Berwyn, Illinois. Students took on the challenge by creat- ing boat designs as a fun after school project where cre- ativity and art skills met up with the practicality of engi- neering. The fact that there were some impressive cash prizes—$2,000 for first place—helped generate excite- ment and participation which culminated in a boat launch at the high school swimming pool where the corrugated boats’ structural integrity and swiftness was put to the test.
