ICPF secured a multi-year partnership with Proj- ect Learning Tree, an SFI Initiative to develop academic materials that will help introduce 3rd through 12th grade students to careers in packaging. Salaverria said that ICPF also spent time exploring in- dustry-specific certificates and tracks at trade schools and community colleges to build the industry’s talent pipeline. From these efforts, ICPF pledged to provide a grant to Ivy Tech Community College awarding up to $50,000 in stu- dent scholarships for two newly created corrugated indus- try Interdisciplinary Workforce Degrees for Machine Oper- ators and Maintenance Technicians. ICPF is co-sponsored by AICC, The Independent Pack- aging Association, and the Fibre Box Association.
