Repair & Regeneration How Stem Cells Exhibit Their Effects

Now that the stem cells have arrived and communicated their instructions, they begin healing the damaged area in several ways:

Reducing Inflammation

Stem cells turn off “overactive” immune responses that cause chronic inflammation, preventing further damage.

Stimulating New Cell Growth

They encourage nearby cells to regenerate and create fresh, healthy tissue (for example, in joints, they can stimulate cartilage repair).

Releasing Anti-Scarring Factors

In some cases, stem cells may even differentiate (transform) into the type of cells needed to replace damaged ones, such as neurons in the brain, muscle cells in the heart, or cartilage cells in joints. They prevent excessive scar tissue from forming, which helps maintain normal tissue function. Improving Blood Flow They promote the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), ensuring better circulation and oxygen delivery to tissues.
