• General IPAC risks, including cleaning standards, PPE usage, and hand hygiene audits • Staffing considerations, including new joiner induction and ongoing training • Cleaning standards at both the main office and clinical hubs • Staff vaccination status • Risk management for pregnant workers This proactive approach demonstrates NPC’s commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and safeguarding the health and wellbeing of both patients and staff. 3.3 Audit - Clinical and Administrative NPC is committed to a robust programme of audits as a key component of its continuous quality improvement strategy. Regular audits are undertaken across a range of operational and clinical areas to ensure compliance with best practices, identify strengths, and uncover opportunities for enhancement. These audits not only provide assurance that services are being delivered safely and effectively but also serve as a valuable tool for learning and development. By systematically reviewing performance and outcomes, the organisation can make informed decisions, implement targeted improvements, and ultimately enhance the quality of care and experience for both patients and staff.
Between 1st April 2024 and 31st March 2025, NPC conducted 45 audits across its services as part of our ongoing commitment to quality assurance and patient safety. These audits are a critical mechanism for evaluating service effectiveness, ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance, and driving continuous improvement. Each audit is reviewed in detail by the Quality & Safety Committee and contributes to the assurances provided to the Board, reinforcing our dedication to maintaining high standards of care.
Looking ahead, NPC has established a structured audit schedule for the upcoming year, with audits planned quarterly across all service areas. This includes thematic and quality assurance audits on infection prevention and control, clinical documentation, patient experience, incident response / investigations, and workforce compliance.
