This was an extremely strong league age-group this season, with hugely impressive basketball played by several teams. The league proved to be a real fight for our boys, who had to battle hard to qualify for the play-off finals. City of London School were extremely strong and we lost twice to them 45-61 and 68-43. We enjoyed two wins against KCS Wimbledon with 53-26 and 56-19 victories. Against Alleyn’s we lost our first match 40-42 but came back to beat them 64-44 at their place. Whitgift proved too strong for us both home and away and we endured 40-48 and 61-45 losses. However, our three victories were enough to make the play-off finals and although we lost, we gave our strongest performance of the season against Whitgift in an epic semi- final, losing 53-41. This semi-final was extremely hard-fought and saw us fatigued, going into the third/fourth place play- off. However, the boys demonstrated real grit, coming out 78-63 victors to secure third place in the league. Mr Faiers is to be heartily thanked for all of his time, endeavour and commitment to the boys, in his second season with the team. Under 15s

Our boys do not start playing basketball until Year 9, which usually means we endure a tough season results-wise, but we revel in the development the boys make across a season; this year’s team should therefore be congratulated on their phenomenal achievements. After a slow start, with a 20-point loss to KCS, we came back with successive wins. Against Farringtons School we won 55-23, and narrowly beat Alleyn’s 31-29. City of London proved the strongest team in the league and our boys struggled against them, losing 42-70 in the first encounter. The response was again impressive, with a second set of wins showing the progress made against Farringtons and Alleyn’s: Farringtons were beaten 77-44 and Alleyn’s 64-49. Unfortunately, we were not able to make up ground against City of London who again beat us 73-44. In our final fixture of the league proper, we faced KCS Wimbledon and put in a superb performance to win 61-33. This qualified us for the League Play-Off Finals in second place behind City. In our semi-final we beat Alleyn’s 66-34. Although we were not able to overturn them in the final, we were delighted to conclude the season by demonstrating the progress made as a team and individuals. We again lost to City of London 66-47, but were pleased to have cut the points differential. Congratulations to their coach, Mr Hallam and all of the boys involved.
