MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision Received The post holder reports directly to Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Group Development and Resources) Supervision Given Deputy Directors of Estate Development Cost and Programme Manager CONTACTS Group and University Leadership Teams External consultants and contractors All Faculties, Schools and Professional Services within the University External stakeholders and agencies Coventry City Council Officers and Elected Members Contact with these groups is expected at the highest levels within the organisations.

17. In conjunction with the Group Director of Estates and the Group Director of Finance provide monthly updates to the Capital Programme Steering Group to enable the Programme to be effectively allocated and managed. 18. Assist the Group Director of Estates in the preparation of Estate Strategies and Masterplans and then work to implement them. 19. Develop and implement robust management information systems to ensure that project finances and programmes are actively monitored and reported. 20. Ensure that an appropriate governance structure is set up and maintained for each project or programme. 21. Foster a culture of minimising change during projects and ensure that change control is operated effectively and actively on all projects. 22. Ensure that all requirements of the University’s Financial Rules and also Public Procurement are adhered to. 23. Fully implement and embrace both BIM Level 2 and Softlandings on projects. 24. Carry out full Post Project Reviews and ensure that feedback is given to all parties and that lessons learned are fully adopted. 25. In conjunction with Group Director of Estates and Estates Space Manager ensure that projects make the very best use of space. 26. To work collaboratively with all members of the Estate Management Office Leadership Team and attend and actively contribute to the team’s meetings. 27. Ensure the development and implementation of processes and continual improvement strategies that develop staff, services and quality – promoting efficient and effective use of resources.
