At JMI, the Green Team leads sustainability efforts all year long! We’ve recycled over 1,000 pounds of plastic through the Trex Program, earning outdoor items made from recycled materials. This year, we collected nearly 400 pounds of plastic wrap and almost 400 cans to recycle through PepsiCo Recycle Rally, earning supplies for our Green Team. To reduce food waste, we donate our leftover breakfast items weekly to the Hands of Hope Food Pantry, which helps local Edsion families. We also recycle school supplies, batteries, and snack pouches through programs like Staples and TerraCycle, earning points to support global causes. Our Annual Earth Day Celebration brings the school community together through games, activities, and student-led projects. This year’s event featured a custom sticker designed by our 5th-grade Green Team!
Our JMI Math Club reached new heights this year, with our 5th-grade students earning a spot on the National Winners List for the Continental Math League — marking the first time JMI has received national recognition! We are incredibly proud of our students for this outstanding achievement. Thank you to all the parents who generously volunteer their time for Math Club every Wednesday night, and a special thanks to our dedicated Math Club coordinators for making these enriching opportunities possible for our students.
