Magical Happenings at John Marshall SChool
Magical Highlights: Appreciating the Arts Celebrating our Talented Musicians, Artists, and Dancers
Assemblies Related to SEL Our JM Dragons enjoyed SEL assemblies where Corey the Dribbler inspired with teamwork and perseverance, Gizmo D Robot taught problem-solving and resilience, and Lead U empowered learners to become confident leaders. These engaging programs helped build strong character and social emotional skills in fun, interactive ways!
Assemblies Related to the Music and Dance In May and June, John Marshall was enriched by the arts through dynamic performances from the Anja Dance Company, Trekking Mexico, and Hip-hop Fundamentals, all of which were presented by Young Audiences. Students had a chance to not only see the performances but also partake in learning basic movements that encompass each dance style. Through each performance, students discovered the rich history and deeper meaning behind various dance styles and their movements.
Assemblies with Authors Rob Buyea & Kira Willey
Kira Willey
Rob Buyea
John Marshall was lucky enough to have two authors visit with our learners this year. Kira Willey focused on SEL concepts as she shared her books and music with our students. John Marshall was excited to host author Rob Buyea for a special assembly geared towards our upper elementary learners! Rob Buyea is the author of the fabulous chapter book, Because of Mr. Terupt. The fifth graders were able to stick around to ask some insightful questions and learn more about the author's writing process.
