WOOODBROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Our third-grade students proudly took part in a beloved Woodbrook tradition—a hands- on STEM backpack project! After researching ways to improve everyday backpacks, students became designers and engineers, measuring, cutting, and sewing their own prototypes using creative materials. They brought writing to life by crafting catalog- style advertisements to promote their designs, blending persuasive writing with marketing skills. The project will culminate a fashion show where students will present their final products with flair, showcasing both their hard work and inventive thinking. STEM BACKPACK BRILLIANCE
JUSTICE IN SESSION
Mock Trial Teaches Justice and Teamwork Mrs. Gram and Ms. James’ fourth graders became attorneys, witnesses, and jurors in a lively mock trial of Forgetful Freddy. Students first learned key courtroom terms and the art of persuasive argument—listening, anticipating, and responding thoughtfully. Working in teams, they drafted questions, practiced objections, and prepared their cases. The jury deliberated, the verdict was delivered, and students gained real-world skills in critical thinking, public speaking, and collaboration. Justice was served—and fun was had by all!
