BOARD GAME DESIGNERS
Fifth graders in Ms. Walters and Ms. Lind’s classes put their writing, math, and engineering skills to work by creating original board games. Using recycled materials, each group designed math- based games with directions, question cards, and answer keys. After testing each other’s creations and offering feedback, students celebrated learning through STEM, collaboration, and creativity. Meanwhile, first graders Parv Golecha and Advaith Balaji from Mrs. Lewis and Ms. Foley’s class combined their love of Dogman and board games to build their very own Dogman-themed game! With guidance from Mrs. Toth and fifth- grade mentors Faith Yan and Kashvi Goyal, they used storytelling, math, and 3D printing to bring their idea to life—designing custom game pieces with a digital program. This exciting project showed how passion, teamwork, and innovation can lead to powerful, hands-on learning. Way to go, Beavers!
