JAMS CROSS COUNTRY
What a phenomenal season for our 2024 Cross Country teams! The Girls Varsity Team wrapped up an undefeated season, claiming the County Championship for the sixth consecutive year! Special congratulations to Isebelle Durek and Savannah Caycho for finishing in the top 12 individually. Our Girls JV Team also had a strong showing, finishing 2nd in the county, with standout performances from Avantika Santhosh, Isara Durek, Anvi Ahuja, and Mithra Ramji, all placing in the top 15. The Boys Varsity Team also achieved an undefeated season, finishing 3rd in the county, while the Boys JV Team
placed 2nd in the county, led by top-15 finishes from Ayan Dogra, Sahej Shah, and Avi Mishra. A huge congratulations to Coach Passaro, who celebrated his 100th career win with the girls team—a remarkable milestone and a testament to years of dedication and leadership. Let’s give a round of applause to all our athletes and coaches for an unforgettable season!
JAMS TEACHER OF THE YEAR - LAUREN LOPEZ
This year’s Teacher of the Year, Lauren Lopez, is dedicated, passionate, and has made exceptional contributions to the school community. She is renowned for her ability to help students gain confidence in math, especially those who initially doubt their abilities. Her positive attitude and daily smile create a welcoming and encouraging classroom environment. A true testament to her impact is the fact that students never want to leave her class. They frequently return to her room throughout the school day and even in subsequent years, long after they have moved on to other grades. Beyond her classroom, she serves as a co-advisor for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), where she plays a vital role in helping students develop leadership and community service skills. Her hard work and dedication continue to make a significant impact on the lives of her students and the entire school community. Congratulations, Lauren!
