ACES
ACES students, along with advisor Mr. Sack, recently enjoyed a memorable and educational trip to see the Somerset Patriots in action! Before the game, students had the unique opportunity to tour the sports facility and learn about a variety of real-world career paths within the sports industry. From marketing and media to operations and athletic training, the experience provided valuable insight into the many roles that help make game day happen. After the tour, students stayed to cheer on the Patriots as they faced off against the Hartford Yard Goats. It was an exciting day filled with learning, inspiration, and fun. This experience we hope will spark future dreams and possibilities!
PLAY UNIFIED
JAMS FCCLA
Play Unified, with advisors Ms. Roth and Ms. Hopkins, had a successful year with 24 active students participating in bowling, kickball, soccer, basketball and volleyball on all different levels. We practiced our skills after school and then competed against the other Edison Middle Schools. We took field trips to the Metuchen Sports Center to play soccer and kickball, to Majestic Lanes for bowling, and to Woodrow Wilson to play volleyball. We then hosted Woodrow’s Play Unified team with help from the JAMS Pep Squad who brought enthusiasm to our friendly competition. We are proud of how our team works together, helps one another, and always makes practice fun. We are looking forward to doing it again next year, hopefully with some of the same faces as well as some new ones!
The JAMS FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) chapter, along with advisors Mrs. Seago and Mrs. Lopez, had an exciting and successful year! Students actively participated in both local and national community service projects, attended leadership workshops, and shined at the State Leadership Conference. Their hard work paid off—members earned an impressive 1 bronze, 12 silver, and 12 gold medals in competition. A special highlight: JAMS FCCLA was honored with the prestigious Red Rose Chapter award, making it the only middle school in the entire state to receive this recognition. Congratulations to all involved on an outstanding year!
