WEEK 2
Brian White

DEAR PINES GUEST, Another summer has come, and we are so glad that you are here to spend a week with us. Our staff has been preparing for your arrival, and we are glad that we can spend the coming days together. As you can see, the property has undergone some massive renovations, as we’ve completely redone most of the camp’s infrastructure. Although we are sad to have had to cut down so many trees, we are thrilled to now have new sod, and we’ve replanted 240 trees to provide privacy and canopy for many years to come. We’ve also added 13 new cabin units and a brand-new bathhouse for our campers and glampers to enjoy. Unlike last summer, we have no construction taking place, so you’ll be able to experience the camp without noise or disruption. This summer, our theme is “Rest” found in Matthew 11:28 where Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” You’ve come here to find rest and we are eager to provide that with excellent childcare, delicious meals, wonderful amenities and an exciting program. Our goal is to unburden you so that you can be refreshed physically, spiritually and relationally. We hope that this week you will cast your cares upon Jesus, knowing that He cares so much for you, and that you will experience the hands and feet of Jesus through our amazing team of Camp Crew, Bible Institute students, and volunteers. Most of all, we pray that you will find rest for your soul in the comfort of the teaching of the word of God and in the community of fellow believers here at The Pines. Next summer, we will celebrate 50 years of ministry at The Pines, and we want to invite you to join us for what we believe will be our best summer yet. We are already planning an incredible celebration, and we want you to be part of that with us as we praise God for His faithfulness to us and
our faithfulness to the mission of helping people take their next step with Jesus. If you haven’t downloaded the Word of Life Pines app, make sure you do that so we can keep you updated on any changes to the programing this week. Thank you for choosing us for your vacation. We can’t wait to see what God does this week.
Serving Together, Jonathan and Cheryl Bubar

HOUSEKEEPING Throughout your stay, please do not move any furniture in the cabins or rooms. If you have any housekeeping needs, contact the Front Desk in person or by phone at 518.494.1391. PINES COFFEE MUGS & PREMIER BLEND If The Pines had a signature drink, it would be coffee. Roasted by Maine artisans at the Coffee Hound Coffee Company, the "Pines Premier" blend is a mix of Arabica beans from Costa Rica and Sumatra taken from the grower’s select portion and is sure to open your eyes and dazzle your taste buds. The best part is that if you buy this summer's exclusive mug or tumbler and leave it on your picnic table or porch, our team will fill it up for you beginning at 6:30 AM each morning. It’s truly an experience that helps make The Pines such a special place. Use your new mug or tumbler and get free drip coffee refills all day long. Showing your mug or tumbler at the Ben and Gerry’s Snack Shack will also get you $1 off all our specialty coffee drinks for the entire week. Speaking of our mugs, this year, we have created a new mug design with traces of copper on beautiful clay. The color schemes are eye catching, and the mugs are large and comfortable in your hand. This year's tumblers are vacuum-sealed and are available in black and white with copper accents to match the mugs. They are sure to become your new favorites. When your friends ask you where you got them, you will have to tellv them all about this special place in the Adirondacks where your family is refreshed every summer. PURCHASE YOUR FIREWOOD We start you out with a complimentary bundle! Buy additional bundles for only $3, or sign up for delivery at the Front Desk. Deliveries are made every morning from 8:30–9:30 AM and every evening from 6:30–7:30 PM.

POOL RULES
FOR YOUR SAFETY The pool at Word of Life Pines is not required by New York State to be supervised by lifeguards. This year, however, we have made the adjustment to include members of our lifeguard team to periodically assist in providing additional supervision when the pool is open. Additionally, our pool area has a series of safeguards in place that are to be followed by all guests. We are required to notify you of these rules to ensure that water rescue equipment is at the pool and that the swimming area is maintained in a sanitary manner. In the interest of your safety, we require you to follow these rules. Please read the safety rules located at the entrance of the pool and also outlined on this sheet. If you have any questions, we will be happy to discuss them with you.
• Never swim alone. A minimum of two adults 18 years of age or older must be present whenever the pool is in use with at least one adult on the pool deck. • There is no substitute for adequate supervision. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied to the pool by a parent, guardian or similar adult who will be responsible for their safety and behavior. • In an emergency, notify the staff member on duty or the Front Desk and contact help immediately. • Only use the pool during posted hours of operation. • Safety is everyone's responsibility. Injuries can be prevented. If you notice any problems with the water quality or absence of safety equipment, please notify the Front Desk. • All guests must wear a wristband to enter the pool.
